Gotham Season 5 Finale Thoughts
Our billionare boy is a man now!
I had to rewatch everything when one of my friend told me that Gotham is now waiting for Season 6!
This always happens to me, I watch a series, forgot what episode I stopped and forget about it until I hear news about it.
It took me around a month to get to the latest episode of season 5 - I only watch portions of it while I prepare for work, so it did took me sometime to catch up.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!
They did a good job on the season finale! But first I want to dive in to the whole thing, the character developments and all the twists and turns.
Now, I am not a die-hard-batman-comic-fan, but I am a fan of this franchise since I was kid. I have enjoyed the movies, read a few comic, watch few animation episodes, I know the main villains and that's just about it!
I love how they've connected everyone in the story. I am always fond of backstories and Gotham is a major-major of all backstories.
At the start of the series, I have adored Oswald (Penguin). They really did good how they build his ambitions, his "credibilty" at Gotham and how he is well connected with everybody. I wasn't really expecting anything when the "10 years later" caption was on - just that everybody aged and stuff. But when they showed a somehow "fat" Penguin with his monocle, my excitement rocketed and I wanted to see more!
And also, there's Ed! He already sported his trademark green suit and hat early on to the series but this time his coat has the question mark prints!
The whole build up of the season finale was Bruce is coming back to Gotham after "looking for himself" at some far off place.
I was so excited when it was Selina's reveal - she's embodying Catwoman now at that super tight-skin suit! Until she took off her mask and it was a different actress. My heart got confused for a bit because I got really attached with the first Selina actress. I was really not a fan of Ivy turning into different "people" and now I have a different Selina to look at. T____T
I did searched the reason about the actress switch and all so I somehow 'accepted' her until the end of the episode.
They also gave Jim his signature mustache that he eventually shaved off before the party. lol. And Alfred now has more grey hair and with a cane!
I love how everybody looked like their orginal comic design at this final episode. They also built the story of how Joker's face had burnt scars and how he is a natural intelligent psycho!
They also gave Jeremiah his final Joker look - the white clown face paint and purple coat - as he plot a scheme to welcome Bruce back at Gotham. The performance is SUPERB until the last minute!
Bruce did not made any other focused appearance after the 10 years caption and they did saved the best reveal last!
I was internally screaming when Jim pulled off the cover on that light thingy and then Bruce came! I was hardly hoping that he is still the same actor because he didn't really sounded the same when he spoke to Selina - but yeah, his voice was supposed to be altered in some way.
The camera zoomed in and I did made a good stare and saw that it is still the same actor! aaahhhkkkk!!
I got all giddy and excited! I actually saw all of these people grew and become the characters that I was familiar with for so long. I am forever be looking forward if they still make more season of Gotham.
Moreover, I am looking forward to any Movie and TV series that anybody would make for this franchise.
If you still haven't watched Gotham - it is currently available - all FIVE seasons of it - at NETFLIX.
