Our Booth Chronicles at CONQuest 2023: A 3-Day Cosplay Adventure!

Greetings, fellow connoisseurs of cosplay and convention fun! 🚀✨ I'm thrilled to share our whirlwind experience at CONQuest 2023, where OKK, comprised of Myka Customs, Lumnox Fantastic Alley, Lily Bear Studio, and Mr. Ferriswheel, set up not one, but two tables with corner access on both sides! Here's the inside scoop on our maiden voyage with CONQuest.

A Prelude to the Adventure: Setting the Stage

A quick bit about this year: it marked our debut as exhibitors at CONQuest 2023, inspired by our friend Bria's (BRKClothing) fantastic experience from previous years. With the excitement building, we secured 2 tables and christened ourselves OKK!

Day 0: Unveiling the Exhibit Realm

The entrance was a breeze, and our exhibitor passes, made of sleek PVC material, added a touch of luxury. Despite the smooth process, the lack of ventilation during setup left us literally swimming in our own sweat. The silver lining? We got a sneak peek at the exhibits on the first floor, sans the usual crowd.

Day 1: Smooth Sailing and Booth Bliss

Day one brought smooth entry for exhibitors and an ideal booth location with a frequently opened door, ensuring a steady flow of foot traffic. A minor hiccup with power outlets was swiftly fixed, showcasing the event's commitment to exhibitor satisfaction. The day passed with a chill and enjoyable vibe.

Day 2: The Rush and Recharge Saga

Day two brought a surge in attendance, leaving us with a dwindling merchandise display by day's end. While great for us, reports of long entry lines cast a shadow over the otherwise bustling day. Power issues persisted, pushing us to tap into every power bank for our trusty fans. Despite the challenges, the marshal presence and security measures provided reassurance.

Day 3: The Climactic Conclusion

The final day ushered in a different tale for everyone. Opening the doors earlier helped manage the colossal crowd outside, but varied experiences unfolded. While some faced inconveniences, others navigated smoothly. The day concluded with mixed reviews, and as the event wound down, my personal rating stands at 3.5/5—from securing a table to egress.

Reflections and a Soft Yes to Future Adventures

Among the factors that could enhance the experience for all attendees include reconsidering on-site ticket sales, better pre-event advertising of new spaces, and a more organized communication system. Despite the challenges, my soft "yes" to attending CONQuest again stems from positive past experiences both as a con-goer and exhibitor.
