Visiting Yoki's Farm 2022
Another weekend, another adventure! Yey! This weekend, we visited Yoki's Farm.
Yoki's Farm is located at Mendez, Cavite, just around an hour-long drive from our place (without heavy traffic).
We availed the farm tour to quickly check out the whole place so we can get an idea in case we get to go visit next time.
Beginning the Tour
Our tour guide for the day was Nathaniel, who has a friendly and comfortable personality. From the start of the tour, you could really feel that there is crowd control as there are not so many people randomly roaming around the place.
The whole place is huge, whole ten hectares! They have different areas for different kinds of animals and our first stop is the koi pond and the stingrays.
We were then led to an area where the room accommodations are. They used to have room accommodations pre-pandemic and as the restrictions are slowly getting low, they are looking to open their rooms soon!
The next animal we saw was the tortoises! We met Bruno, Tiny and the others! Bruno was such a doll, he was looking back when you call his name and even stops when you are taking his photo. so cute!
The Museum
The museum is one of the main attractions of the place. It houses some of the collections of the owner from all over the world. Nathaniel told us that the owner was Chinese and then he married a Filipina-Catholic making an even wider variation on his collection.
Inside the Antique Museum is a private collection of old Asia artifacts and souvenirs. At the center, they display this huge laughing buddha surrounded by a grand collection of brass statues of different Hindu Gods and Goddesses, animals, and dragons.
They also have Terracota Warriors, jade boats, relics of old churches, and old house pieces.
The Farm
The Hydroponic Vegetable Farm
After the museum, the trail of the tour leads us to their hydroponic greenhouses. They have this huge area with big greenhouses that grows different types of lettuces. We were a bit early to do produce harvesting but they still have a selection of vegetables that they sell right from the farm. On a good day (season), they usually have a larger collection, and for us we ordered lettuces! :)
Orchidarium and Herb Garden
They also sell potted plants and flowers on the farm. Their orchidarium was really pretty and colorful! They have this huge space with different kinds of orchids. I love how they are so colorful and blooming!
The Sanctuary
Yoki's farm offers close animal encounters which is very cool for families with adventurous children. We didn't avail it though, but it looked fun!
We had close encounters with their Malamutes along the way which was equally fun for me!
Apart from the koi fishes, stingrays, and tortoises at the start of the tour, we got to see Zebras, cutie horses, sheeps and we were also given a chance to hold an unfertilized ostrich egg which is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!
They also house in rescues and birds that are rarely seen here in the Philippines.
They have different species of iguanas too, also phytons and snakes!
The last part of the tour is where they have the children's playground and the eagles, and the rest of the animal encounters. They also have a huge canteen which was currently empty - maybe they temporarily closed off serving meals there.
We tried looking for souvenirs but they don't have any. And oh, we picked up the vegetable and potted plants we ordered at the canteen too. The area also leads to where we started and back to the parking area.
Try and visit Yoki's Farm!
The place is huge and I highly suggest that you give them a call before you do. They no longer accept walk-in visitors (for now) to control foot traffic due to current restrictions. I am not sure how to go there via public transport but we traveled privately plus there's a spacious parking space too!
The tour was almost 2 hours (excluding animal encounters). Overall, we had an enjoyable experience at Yoki's Farm. The staff was accommodating and they even offered to take photos along the way.
Yoki's Farm is a great place to visit if you're looking for close animal encounters. They have a variety of animals, from koi fishes and stingrays to zebras and horses. You can even hold an ostrich egg! The staffs are accommodating and the place is huge, so make sure to wear comfortable footwear and bring water with you. You can also buy snacks and drinks from the canteen or the shop upfront.
