Making Power's 76.1 Shirt
Hey there, cosplay enthusiasts! 🌟 So, I had this itch to do a quick and easy cosplay for a small event, and what better choice than Power? It's simple, iconic, and, most importantly, the easiest to make!
Let me take you through the speedy creation of my Power-inspired shirt – a project filled with excitement, a bit of nerves, and a whole lot of trial and error (the fun kind!).
Base shirt
Thank the cosplay gods, I have the exact color of fabric I needed in my stash. Raiding my cabinet, I snagged a loose shirt, traced its shape, and voila – the blueprint for my Power shirt was born!
The fabric I used here is spandex, which is stretchable and thick. This is actually perfect for making hero suits! This is a leftover of the dress I made for Big Mom!
The shade of pink is just perfect and so close to the anime. I would prefer a thinner fabric, but as a resourceful cosplayer, we make do of what we have. :)
This was a lightning-fast sew job, featuring only four parts: the main shirt, two sleeves, and that edge thingy on the collar – you know, the technical term!
The 76.1 Print
Now, for the '76.1' print, I opted for heat-on vinyl. Armed with a free-hand drawing on paper, I cut it out and traced the design onto the back of the vinyl roll (make sure to do the invert thing!). The real challenge? No fancy heat press thingy on hand, which meant a wild ride of prayer and ironing.
