Zoro Gets An Upgrade - Enma, The 7th Sword

If you are a manga reader - we already know this but if you are an anime-only watcher of the series One Piece, Episode 956 has shown us Zoro receiving his "third" sword replacing Shusui.

At the time of the Wano Arc, Shusui has been stolen from Zoro by the Fox Guard of Ringo - Onimaru; and he has been on a search to take it back.

He was able to to track Onimaru in turn meeting Kawamatsu who was then later known to have been an acquaintance to the Fox Guard.

The previous episode also noted how the Shusui is an important symbol to Wano and how its disappearance was dubbed as the start of the country's downfall.

During Zoro's journey on getting back Shusui, he met Lady Hiyori who have witnessed his skills and swordsmanship.

Lady Hiyori then offered Zoro a replacement to Shusui - one of his father's sword bestowed to her - the Enma.

Enma was at par or should I say, beyond par of Shusui as this is known to be the only blade that injured Kaido. Zoro contemplated for a bit but having the history of the blade known, he agreed with the offer and by the time they reached Amigasa Village, Hitetsu handed him Enma.

At this episode we also witnessed Zoro make his first try of Enma - sucking his energy dry and reverting back. He was aiming for a tree but sliced up a part of the hill in just one swing. The animation of his right arm with haki is awesomely presented as well.

At the latter part of the episode, Hitetsu got into detail as to how Zoro seemed to have a connection with Enma. It was revealed that the swordsmith of Enma and Wado Ichimoji (Zoro's second sword) is the same person - Shimotsuki Kozaburo, a famous Wano kuni swordsmith who illegally departed the country. Having Hiyori recognize Wado Ichimoji might be one of the reasons why she made the offer of replacing the Shusui with Enma. This motivated Zoro to train more and get comfortable using Enma.

On a different note, at the end of the episode, it has been announced that the series has reached it's 1000 chapter! There would definitely be a big celebration about this - and I am highly looking forward to it!
